Kitchen Update

I love my kitchen, or at least what it is slowly becoming. Frankly, every small achievement makes me deliriously happy, especially when I look back on these 'before' pictures......

(my microwave looks like an old TV - cool eh?)

What do you think of my papered ceiling. Great for covering over the cracks - but seriously difficult!!!!! Here it is in close-up.....

I love having free standing cupboards, even when they have a handle missing! The one on the left was from Ebay, before these kind got super expensive and the one on the right was rescued from a skip.

I'm sure I've shown you this before, my painted cupboard? I painted it ages ago and has been used as a toy cupboard, craft cupboard, junk store.......but now is back where it should be and I love having everything in one place.

So it's getting there - well it's certainly comfortable, clean and prettier! And don't the summer months make a difference? I can't tell you the feeling I get when it's a sunny morning and I come down to my 'dream' kitchen. Proper old farmhouse stuff isn't it? Very, very rustic, but I love it.

Living Room to show you next.

  3. Wow, what an amazing transformation, it looks wonderful. Love your papered ceiling and your painted cupboard. It's amazing what can be found in a skip. You must feel such a sense of achievement, I would just want to sit in the kitchen admiring it.

  4. Oh my, certainly worth waiting for this post! It is looking absolutely wonderful and you have worked so hard to make it just right - your dream kitchen. My mum and dad have free standing cupboards as well. If ever I get my dream cottage, I hope to have free standing cupboards as well...they seem so much more versatile!

I dream to have a kitchen like yours!
Today I`m going to the auction and bid for a lovely cupboard for our kitchen, although we have to do our kitchen up first.
So seeing your amazing photos was very inspiring!

  15. Hi! I've just found your great blog via Troc,Broc and Recup. I've read all of your posts, so know that you must be feeling so relieved. Your kitchen is lovely! I hope you'll pop over and read my blog. Some DIY, but mostly daft stories about my loopy family. Good Luck and I'll follow with great interest. One day, you will be able to look back and laugh - honest! SueXXX
